Conratulations to Luke on his new lap record and also his first final win of 2010!

Project One head's across the water - 18th February 2010
Project One Racing took its success further afield, making the trip across to Northern Ireland to compete in the final round of the Kirkistown Winter Series. Two brand new Project One recruits would be at the wheel in the form of Jack and Ryan Young. Both drivers still only novice's but with no testing prior to the first race on a new kart, the pair qualified a very respectable 3rd and 5th out of a strong field of 15 Honda Cadets. In the final race of the day Jack put in a strong drive to finish 3rd overall just three hundredths of a second behind the winner and also setting a fastest lap two tenths faster than the two karts in front! Ryan also put in a solid effort to come through the grid to finish 4th.
After a very strong showing at Kirkistown the team were keen to improve further aboard their new Project One karts. The only two in Ireland at the moment. Testing moved from Kirkistown on to Nutts Corner. The first day saw the pair setting good lap times in the wet conditions. On day two of the test the weather held off allowing them to get onto slick tyres, the pair set times faster than they have ever set around Nutts Corner and were consistently between six tenths and a second faster than their nearest rivals but on this occasion it was Ryan who was the faster. All in all a successful trip. Thank you to Phillip, Robert and Jim for their hospitality and well done to Jack and Ryan who we are sure will feature much more at the top of the results sheets!
Back home the race team took the long trip up to Rowrah for a three day test, Rob Holland set some very respectable lap times prior to the Super One round. Likewise our Honda Cadet team in the shape of current O Plate holder and lowest seed, Luke Knott, alongside Kyle Petrica and Dino Lee gained momentum in both wet and dry conditions making it a very successful test.
The team now focuses on local meetings once again before diverting attention to the Super One campaign once again.
Whilton has its up's and down's - 1st February 2010

Project One Racing's Rotax team had their first outing of 2010 at Whilton Mill on the last weekend in January. It proved to be a good starting point for the team showing off the latest team graphics, which stood out very well on track and brought about lots of attention around the paddock.
Top Minimax seed Rob Holland was quick from the off, in practice Rob set a time three tenths clear of his nearest rival setting him up nicely for the heats. A tough first heat saw Rob progress well from eighteenth to finish eighth. Then in heat two a good start from fourteenth meant that rob crossed the line sixth on lap one and then fourth at the finish. In the last heat Rob would start fourth and drive away to a clear victory meaning that he would start on grid three for the final. Rob made a flyer at the start and shot straight up into second, along with the pole man, they quickly pulled a large gap on third place and then Rob set about making a move for the lead. On lap twelve of sixteen Rob hit the front, however a small mistake cost Rob the lead and valuable time and with only two laps remaining, too much work to do. Rob finished a very clear second with third place coming home nearly seven seconds behind the leading pair!
Junior Max newcomer Luke Rosewell had a tough weekend of learning. After a good days testing on Saturday, Luke progressed into Sundays racing with good pace. Heat one and Luke started at his front grid of fifth, however inexperience of Junior Max racing and large grids meant that Luke had a difficult time and ended up a disappointing twelfth. After a long discussion with the team Luke took to the track for his second heat starting from twenty-first. A much more confident start and better race craft meant that Luke would end the race in a respectable eighth position. For the last heat Luke would be lining up eighteenth, as with any Junior Max race though, the inevitable happened and a mass first corner pile up ensued leaving Luke nowhere to go. Eventually he continued in last but one, however while making good progress another kart had an off and dragged water onto the circuit at the first corner, Luke was the next kart round and the inevitable happened again! Luke finally crossed the line in twenty-third position. This meant that he would start in twenty-third for the final, however once again over ambition at the start meant that a pile up left Luke with a blockaded track, the incident meant that Luke was nearly a whole lap down but determination during the race saw Luke match the leaders lap times for fourteen consecutive laps. At the flag Luke's charge had brought him up to fifteenth. Not what he deserved but a reminder that Luke still has lots of potential to be brought out.
All in all although it was a disappointing result for Luke, both drivers showed they have the pace to win making it a very good starting point for the team, they will now carry this momentum forward into next week where they will be in action once again at PF International.
Winning ways continue at Bayford Meadows - 24th January 2010
The first dry race meeting of 2010 at the team's home circuit, Bayford Meadows saw a second consecutive Project One top five in the Honda Cadet Clubman class with Kane Illingworth taking the victory at the flag from Cameron Clarke by just 0.3s.
Honda Cadet was not such a close call with Jack Evans aboard his new 2010 Project One kart driving away from the chasing pack to win by over 3 seconds! Yet again proving that the latest round of improvements from the Project One factory have made this already race winning kart an unstoppable force in 2010! In his first full weekend with the Project One Race Team, Dino Lee took a big step forward piloting a new 2010 Project One finishing a very respectable 6th to start off his 2010 campaign.
In Minimax, team driver Charlie Elliot showed good pace in qualifying, although misfortune in the heats and pre-final led to Charlie starting down the order. However a good solid drive in the final brought Charlie up to 6th in the final standings, setting a best lap time just 2 tenths off the pace of the pack infront. Novice driver Sam Roud competeing in only his 4th race made good progress thoughout the day driving his 2010 Kosmic Mercury, leading the novice race in 6th position until contact from behind resulted in Sam dropping down the order but a good recovery saw him cross the line in 11th place.
So far Project One have had a great start to the season taking a flurry of victories. The next race will see Project One taking its Roatx team to Whilton Mill, keep checking back to stay up to date with the team's progress.

Project One Heads Home Hondas at Buckmore - 17th January 2010
Project One Racing had another successful weekend at the January Buckmore Park Club meeting. Honda Cadet Clubman driver James Waite, run by the Project One Race Team, took a clean sweep on sunday winning his heat, pre-final and final by over four seconds from fellow Project One pilots Kane and Guy Illingworth with Lewis Foreman and Jarvis Devon making it an all Project One top five!
Honda Cadet was much closer with Jack Evans winning his heat and the pre-final under guidance from Project One Racing. However a last lap overtaking move by Robbie Gallier dropped Evans down to 5th with Gallier taking the win on his Project One kart by just one tenth of a second from Billy Monger at the line!
In Minimax Rob Holland was on fine form leading away the field for the first few laps, however a choice on tyres did not pay off and Rob slowly dropped back, eventually finishing 5th.
Meanwhile at Bayford Meadows, Luke Rosewell successfully completed an initial installation test aboard his new 2010 OTK kart, setting some very respectable lap times ahead of his first race of 2010 at Whilton Mill at the end of January!
